Dear Debt Manifesto

by Melanie

Welcome to my home on the web. Dear Debt is committed to inspiring others to get out of debt for good and take back their lives.

It’s a safe space, a community and a place where people can talk openly about the emotional aspects of being in debt β€” the highs of making progress, the lows of feeling buried in debt, and the plateaus of feeling stuck.

Dear Debt was founded on a few principles:

Everyone matters and we can all learn from each other.

Although we are all in debt for different reasons, we are in this together and we will help inspire each other to get out of debt.

There is no judgement.

You are not a loan. You are not alone.

Your self-worth is not based on your net worth.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you stick around and enjoy the journey.

You should consider adding a twitter account to your site. Someone gave me that advice once and it’s a great way to interact with other PF bloggers!

The template of your blog perfectly reflects your minimalist mentality. Looks good.

Totally agree with Tonya (Budget and the Beach) Get on twitter! Also I have a mountain of debt (non-mortgage, close to 100k) and we don’t have a massive income! You should check out My Alternate Life- Jordann is a PF blogger who is also a self proclaimed minimalist. She also writes for Making Sense of Cents every Friday (sometimes it’s thurs) about her minimalist lifestyle.

I would agree with Catherine @ Tonya, you should get on Twitter. It’s a great way to network with other bloggers and is very easy. Good luck on the debt!

You can do this! We too are in a boatload of debt, but working s-l-o-w-l-y at getting it paid off. We just try and focus on every dime we reduce by, and celebrate it, then move on to tomorrow. πŸ™‚

I’ll admit, I’m pretty behind on catching up with blogs… but I’m really excited to read yours. I love the idea of having a manifesto on your blog. I’ve been thinking of adding a “purpose” page to mine.
