Hey peeps! I have another awesome dear debt letter!
This time, from Kayla at Shoeaholicnomore. Kayla is a mid-20s single girl living in the Midwest, USA. She is focused on paying off her consumer debt and student loans, while simplifying her life and closet. You can join her on her journey at Shoeaholicnomore.
Dear Debt,
You are holding me back from my life plans and from following my wildest dreams.
I dream of the day I fully own my dream home on a tract of land in my ideal location, where there’s lots of room for my pets to roam and for me to garden and enjoy the outdoors. A location where I can have a workshop to re-do furniture and complete other creative projects.
I dream of a lifestyle that allows me to have a career I love where time off is abundant, rather than a job I’m chained to for 40+ hours a week for the pay.
But, because of you dear debt, I am stuck in a job that I don’t love just for the pay it provides.
Because of you, I get scared every time an unexpected expense pops up and find myself wondering if I’ll have enough to pay my bills and to eat the rest of the month.
Because of you, I feel like I can’t get ahead with my emergency fund and other savings goals.
Because of you debt, I’ve had to give up weekend getaways with my BFF to save money.
Because of you, I can’t do home improvement projects or other fun, creative projects.
Because of you dear debt, I give up my evenings and weekends to work my part-time job and home business and I can’t find the time to spend outside doing things I enjoy.
Because of you, I can’t always say yes when my friends want to go out for the evening.
Because of you, I’m giving away almost half of my monthly income.
I won’t let you continue to hold me back debt! I’ve made a plan and I’m working hard to stick to it day in and day out.
Before long dear debt, you will be paid off and long gone from my life.
I’m longing for your last day dear debt!
Sincerely,
Kayla
